What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Your first men's waxing appointment at Toronto Wax is straightforward and professional. Here is what to expect:
Arrival & Consultation
Arrive a few minutes early. Your esthetician will review the services you have selected, answer any questions, and discuss your preferences. Let them know about any skin sensitivities, allergies, or medications you are using.
During Treatment
You will be taken to a private treatment room. The esthetician will clean the treatment area and apply professional wax using disposable applicators. The wax is applied in small sections and removed quickly. Each area is treated with a fresh applicator no double-dipping, ever. Most services take between 15 and 45 minutes depending on the area.
Pain Expectations
The first appointment typically feels the most noticeable because the hair root is at its strongest. After 2-3 regular sessions, most clients find the experience significantly more comfortable. The back and shoulders tend to be the least sensitive areas. The chest and stomach may feel more noticeable. All treatments use professional techniques designed for efficiency and comfort.
Aftercare

Do you offer Brazilian waxing for men?
No. Brazilian waxing for men is not available at Toronto Wax. All of our men's services are non-Brazilian. These include full back, shoulders, chest, arms, stomach, legs, ears, neck, and full body packages without Brazilian or facial waxing.
How long does a back wax take?
A full back wax typically takes 20-30 minutes. Shoulders can be included. For back plus shoulders combined, allow approximately 30-40 minutes. Actual duration depends on hair density and coverage.
Will waxing make my hair grow back thicker?
No. This is a common concern. Waxing removes hair from the root, which can lead to finer, sparser regrowth over time. With regular appointments every 4-6 weeks, many men find their hair grows back noticeably thinner and less dense.
How long should my hair be before a waxing appointment?
Hair should be approximately 6 mm (one-quarter inch) typically 2-3 weeks of growth after your last shave. If hair is longer, it can be trimmed before treatment.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid tight shirts or synthetic fabrics after a chest or back wax. A clean cotton t-shirt is ideal. The treatment room is private, and you will have privacy to undress and dress for the area being treated.
Can I combine multiple areas in one appointment?
